I checked what I ordered the most over the last six months, and the result was very Korean.
Some were real meals.
Some were late-night decisions.
And one of them was not exactly “food,” but it still says a lot about Korean daily life.
Here are my top five.
5. Tteokbokki — 3 Orders

Tteokbokki came in 5th place with 3 delivery orders.
Honestly, I thought it would be higher. But then I realized something: I usually do not order tteokbokki for delivery.
Tteokbokki is one of those foods I often buy near my home while walking around. It feels more natural to grab it on the way home than to wait for it at the door.
Still, spicy rice cakes will always have a place in my food life.
Final thought:
Tteokbokki is not always a delivery food for me. It is more like a “saw it, wanted it, bought it” food.
4. Pork Kimchi Jjigae — 4 Orders

Pork kimchi jjigae came in 4th place with 4 orders.
This is one of my husband’s favorite menus. I usually make it at home because it is a pretty normal Korean home-cooked dish.
But sometimes, I am tired.
Sometimes, the kitchen looks at me and I look away.
That is when pork kimchi jjigae gets ordered.
It is warm, spicy, salty, and comforting. Basically, the kind of food that makes rice disappear quickly.
Final thought:
I can make it at home, but delivery exists for a reason.
3. Kimbap — 6 Orders

Kimbap came in 3rd place with 6 orders.
To be honest, I do not eat kimbap all the time. But in my family, kimbap is the kind of food that solves problems quickly.
No time? Kimbap.
Kids need to eat fast? Kimbap.
Nobody wants to think too hard about lunch? Kimbap.
It is simple, clean, easy to share, and does not feel too heavy.
Kimbap may not be the most exciting food on this list, but it is probably one of the most practical.
Final thought:
Kimbap is not dramatic. It just gets the job done.
2. Grocery Delivery — 8 Orders

This one is technically not a Korean food, but it deserves a spot.
In Korea, you can order groceries from a mart and have them delivered to your home. Vegetables, meat, milk, snacks, drinks, frozen food — basically your fridge can be rebuilt through an app.
And yes, I counted this because it happened 8 times.
This is one of those things that feels very normal in Korea, but might be interesting to people from other countries. Grocery delivery is fast, convenient, and honestly dangerous.
You open the app to buy eggs.
Then somehow snacks appear.
I do not know how.
Final thought:
Not a food, but definitely part of my Korean eating life.
1. Korean Fried Chicken — 15 Orders

And the winner is Korean fried chicken.
By a lot.
I ordered chicken 15 times in six months, which sounds slightly concerning until you remember one thing:
Korean chicken is very hard to get tired of.
There are so many flavors, brands, sauces, styles, and side menus. Fried chicken, spicy chicken, soy garlic chicken, cheese powder chicken, boneless chicken, crispy chicken — and somehow, there are still so many I have not tried yet.
Chicken is also the perfect late-night food in Korea.
Was I hungry? Maybe.
Was it too late to order chicken? Apparently not.
Did I regret it? Usually no.
Final thought:
Korean fried chicken did not win by accident. It earned the crown.
Final Ranking
5th place: Tteokbokki — 3 orders
4th place: Pork kimchi jjigae — 4 orders
3rd place: Kimbap — 6 orders
2nd place: Grocery delivery — 8 orders
1st place: Korean fried chicken — 15 orders
Looking at this list, I learned two things.
First, my family uses delivery more than I expected.
Second, Korean fried chicken is not just food. It is a lifestyle choice.
A crispy, saucy, late-night lifestyle choice.
